Booooooooooring

I think I must have the most boring blog in the whole univerise!

Tonight was my first night on my own at Ebenezer. It was almost uneventful and the only even that was extraordinary is too disgusting to mention here. Suffice it to say, I helped a patient in a way that I hope to not have to do again in a looooooong time. I was only 45 minutes late getting done with work which I don't think is too bad on my first night.

And I also learned that it's kinda scary to go grocery shopping at midnight!

Busy weekend planned . . . pizza at Sue & Steve's friday night, Morgan's birthday party at Skateville on Saturday, and Easter (a week late) at my parents on Sunday in Faribault . . . hope to have lots of pictures to share soon.

Hoppy Easter!!!

Hip Hip, Hippity Hop! Did the Easter Bunny come to your house? The kids and I decorated Easter eggs last weekend.

Someone stole my phone at work tonight. I went to the bathroom, came back and it was gone. So, needless to say, if you need to reach me, you'll have to try me at home. Oh, and it was last used at 3:00 this morning, so I know I didn't just misplace it. I'm angry.

Super Saturday

I had my last day of training at Ebenezer today so not only am I officially an LPN, but now I can work without another nurse by my side. It was a fun night -- people are starting to know me and I'm starting to know them.

As for the date last night -- I think I forgot AWESOME as an adjective, which is what this would fall under. John is funny, nice, sweet and he wears nice shoes! We went out to dinner, went to listen to a band and then wrapped it up at Bumper's (my car was there). We met again tonight for a beer when I was done with work. Oh, and Carrie -- he's a Dale, Jr. fan!

Fantastic Friday

I'm so excited for tonight. I have a "date." First one in . . . well, we won't talk about that. Have to let you know how it goes later! I will spare you all details and just say good, not so good or eeeeew!

Wonderful Wednesday

It is the middle of Spring Break. We had a Girl Scout tour of Krispy Kreme today. The kids were able to make their own Easter doughnuts and then ate them! Then we went to Kohl's and the kids each got new shoes.

I PASSED MY BOARDS!!!!!

Terrif-ic(-ying) Tuesday

Took my NCLEX this a.m. EEEKKK!! I'll find out in the next day or two how I did. I'm nervous. If I didn't pass, then I lose my Ebenezer job. After the test I worked at Ebenezer and then went to Bumper's to celebrate my friend Tammy's birthday. Here's a picture of Jennifer, Tammy & I.

Manic Monday

Today was odd. I went to take the kids to Project KIDS today -- its Spring Break -- and it was full! So, I ended up calling my Bingo Buddy Kris whose daughter Emily was born the same day as Morgan to see if she could watch the kids. Thank the Lord she was home and available or I really would have been in a bind. I worked at Bumper's and it was pretty quiet -- but for some reason I made my "minimum to keep me happy amount" in tips! My friend Donna came in for shift change and before she could log in, she got a call from her mother that her father was having a heart attack. Needless to say, she went to the hospital. It's touch-and-go with her dad right now and he sees a heart specialist on Tuesday. He also has prostate cancer, Parkinson's and is legally blind. I wish him the best.

The kids and I went out to dinner with for Kris' birthday. We went to Axel's. The food was fantastic and we all wobbled out to the car when we were done!

So -- here's the Booga Bag! I made for Donna. I finally got it to her today (had to lenghthen the handle).

The bag it's sitting next to is the Booga Bag Carrie made me for my birthday last year.

Costa Rican Honey

My friend Sandy just got back from two weeks in Costa Rica with her daughter, Beth. Sandy's roommate, Tom, and I helped take care of her dog, Bo.

Bo Posted by Hello

As a thank you gift, Sandy brought me back "Costa Rican honey" and a pareo.

Costa Rican Honey Posted by Hello

It was an inside joke as I told Sandy I wanted her to bring me back "A Costa Rican Honey" for taking care of Bo! Ain't she funny???

Erin go Bragh!

Happy St. Patty's day to you all! Even though I don't have a bit of Irish in me, I still like to wear green and eat corned beef & cabbage!

I'm on my 8th day of work in 9 days straight. Don't have much of an update for you -- haven't finished any projects or done anything fun with the kids. Although Spring Break does start today!

I picked up my folks from the airport on Monday -- welcome back home, mom and dad! My sister threw a roast in the crock pot so by the time we all got to their house, we had a yummy dinner waiting for us. Thanks, Aunt Rosie!

Big snowstorm predicted for tonight -- hopefully the last one of the year. Maybe I'll have pictures this weekend of the kids playing in the fluffy white stuff!

MN Aids Walk -- Sunday, May 15, 2005

I will again be participating in the Minnesota AIDS walk this year in memory of my two cousins, Kevin Ford & Kerry Schussler. Last year my sister, Rose, and my two cousins, Lynn and Dayna, walked also. It was an absolutely beautiful day. I hope to get a bigger team together this year so if anyone would like to join us, please let me know. Morgan is hoping to walk with us, but I told her she had to "train!" Six miles is a long way for an 8-year old to walk! Otherwise, if you'd like to donate you can click on this link and it will take you to my donation page -- http://register.mnaidsproject.org/site/TR?pg=personal&fr_id=1030&px=1048245

Any donation would be greatly appreciated! THANK YOU!!! :-)

Scarf

Scarf with yummy apple Posted by Hello

scarf - closeup Posted by Hello

This is the scarf that I started up in Ely in January. I finished it a while ago and decided my blog needed a new picture! Carrie is making the same scarf but she picked out yarn that is blue and purple. I was at Byerly's the other day buying fruit for the kids and came across some absolutely gorgeous red apples -- and thought -- what a great picture to have a yummy apple with my red scarf!

It's been cold again here in Minnesota -- so much for the warm Sunday. Monday was windy and chilly -- today it was a bit warmer.

I worked for 2 1/2 hours by myself at Ebenezer last night. The girl that was to train me last night wasn't able to come in until then so I did the first med pass "supervised from afar." I'm supposed to have 4 more days of training before they let me loose but oh well! It was a good test to do a little of it on my own.

Tomorrow I start another "9-days in a row of work" stint. Argh . . . better go get some sleep!

Silly Kitty

Gonzo Posted by Hello
Gonzo was being silly with me this morning. He sure has been feisty lately!

We had a busy weekend -- we ran around all day Saturday -- took care of my friend Sandy's dog, delivered Girl Scout cookies, scheduled a tour of Krispy Kreme for the Girl Scout troop over spring break, went to see The Pacif!er, had dinner with my friend Tammy and the kids played outside a good part of yesterday. Funny thing about Minnesota -- it was in the mid-60's yesterday and this morning when we woke up it was snowing! Oh, well, I guess it is March.

I worked on my friend Donna's B00ga Bag this weekend. I just have to put it together and it will be done. I also started a baby afghan. Pictures to follow . . .
